Those objects are frequently working objects to further carry out the deception so no one knows that they are being recorded. The purpose of hidden cameras is to catch somebody doing something they shouldn't be doing often that "something" is illegal or immoral.
Cheating on a spouse, stealing from an employer, a nanny abusing a child are just some examples of uses of hidden cameras.
The alarm clock hidden camera with DVR is perhaps the best example of what a hidden camera is and can do. The camera and DVR are hidden inside a fully functioning Sony "dream machine" clock radio. The beauty of having a DVR built-in is that it's often cheaper than buying a separate DVR which is needed to record the images. But on all accounts it is easier
Images are recorded to an 8 GB SD card similar to what you use in a digital camera. When you want to play the images back remove the SD card and insert it into an SD card reader and you're good to go.
Here is how to use the alarm clock hidden camera with DVR.
1. Place the clock radio in the general direction you want to record.
2. Place the SD card into the SD card slot located on the back to the alarm clock. Insert it until it clicks into place.
3. Connect the AC power cord into a wall outlet.
4. The DVR will run a self test. It takes a few seconds to complete once the power is on.
5. After the self test the DVR are will show live video. At this point it's ready to record.
6. When you press the record button on the remote that will start the recording. There is no indicator on the outside of clock radio to show that it's recording.
7. The remote can be used to navigate and set up to DVR if needed.
8. You can also remove the SD card and place it in your SD card reader for viewing on your computer. The DVR while not record without the SD card.
Those are the basic steps to operate the most popular alarm clock hidden camera with DVR.
